PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which attains reduction of a parts count by a simple constitution and enables a sure execution of paper-feeding of paper sheets to be recorded, and to provide a paper feed mechanism. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a feed roller 41, a press roller 42 which presses the paper P to be recorded to the feed roller 41, and an image forming means 6. A paper feeding course H which sends the paper P to the image forming means 6 is formed between the feed roller 41 and the press roller 42. The feed roller 41 forms grip parts 41g which contact the vicinity of both right and left ends of the paper P, at right and left symmetric points with a center axis C of the paper feeding course H held in between. A cylindrical press ring 7 which is set penetrating near both ends of the press roller 42, and a bearing for the press roller 42a which pivots the press roller 7 are prepared. The bearing for the press roller 42a is constituted to excite the press roller 42 via the press ring 7 in a direction of the feed roller 41. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
