PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing structure of a building, which enables a sound absorbing structure to be efficiently housed in the room of the building, which can effectively reduce a floor impact sound propagated into the room, and which can effectively improve acoustic characteristics. SOLUTION: In this sound absorbing structure, the sound absorbing structure 2 utilized as a floor panel is provided along the approximately rectangular floor surface 3 of the room 1 in the building. The sound absorbing structure 2 is provided with a plurality of approximately tubular hollow bottomed portions 5, 7, etc. in which a sound-wave incident port 20 is formed on the side of one end, in which a sound-wave reflecting surface 21 is formed on the side of the other end, and in which a length from the side of one end to the side of the other end is set at approximately half the length of long or short side of the floor surface 3. The sound absorbing structure 2 efficiently absorbs a low-frequency sound which generates a standing wave in the room 1, that is, a low-frequency sound corresponding to the characteristic mode of the room, so as to enhance a floor-impact-sound reducing effect and the acoustic characteristics of the room.
