POWER CONTROL FOR HYBRID MOTORCYCLE

An automatic centrifugal clutch is interposed in a power transmission system between an engine and a driving wheel. A motor, which is capable of generating electricity, is supplied with electricity from a battery to generate auxiliary power. The motor is connected to a crankshaft of the engine. An accelerator operation amount detection component is provided that is adapted to detect the accelerator operation amount. An input side rotational speed detection component is provided that is adapted to detect as input side rotational speed the rotational speed of an input side rotary body of the clutch or a rotary body that rotates in sync with the input side rotary body. An output side rotational speed detection component also is provided that is adapted to detect as output side rotational speed the rotational speed of an output side rotary body of the clutch or a rotary body that rotates in sync with the output side rotary body. A motor controller is provided that is adapted to supply the motor with a magnitude of electricity in accordance with the accelerator operation amount while the accelerator operating element is operated to start driving the hybrid motorcycle and after the output side rotational speed has generally equalized with the input side rotational speed.
