The heat exchanger has flat pipes (1) with fins, which are arranged between the flat pipes, where fluid e.g. cooling air and supercharged air, flows between the fins. Ends are provided with openings (3) in a collecting box (4) or with openings in a pipe body (5). The body is connected with a collecting box. The collecting box has a contour (10) when the box is seen in a transverse direction. The ends of the pipes have a contour (20) that corresponds with and does not project over the contour (10). A guide unit (40) is provided in the box and cooperates with the contours.
