An apparatus and a method for reserving a digital broadcasting channel in a portable terminal are provided to save a user the trouble of receiving an EPG(Electronic Program Guide) to confirm the broadcasting time of a digital broadcasting program by previously storing a desired digital broadcasting channel. A control part outputs a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) program, received through a DMB receiving part, to a display part(201), and checks whether a reservation information setup request is generated(203). If the reservation information setup request is generated, the control part instructs a DMB management part to receive an EPG, and displays the received EPG through the display part(205). Then the control part judges whether the user selects a specific program(207). In case the user selects a desired program, the control part directs the DMB management part to confirm whether preset reservation information exists at the same time period as the broadcasting time of the selected program(209). If not, the control part stores the selected program information in a reservation information database(211).
