<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for preparing a dermal model having pigment-forming capability mainly from a hair cell and a matrix cell by certifying that especially the complete epidermis including a keratinocyte and a melanocyte is produced by culturing the matrix cell on an artificial dermis. <P>SOLUTION: The epiderm equivalent with pigment-forming capability and comprising cells derived from the differentiation of matrix cells, and the preparation thereof are provided. The reconstructed skin with pigment-forming capability and optionally comprising hair follicles, and comprising the epidermis equivalent, its method of preparation and its use for evaluating the effect of topical cosmetic, pharmaceutical or dermatological products are also provided.
