<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain miniaturization/function integration/cost reduction of an optical waveguide device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical device is provided with an optical fiber assembly 11 consisting of an optical element chip 1, an optical fiber 2, a first ferrule 3, and a second ferrule 6, and a package 4 is provided with an aperture 4a for introducing the optical fiber assembly 11 and is also provided with a supporting pipe 5 which is attached to the outer extension of the aperture to support an introduction part of the optical fiber 2 into the package 4 together with the second ferrule 6 making the optical fiber assembly 11 introduced into the package 4, and which seals the inside of the package 4 airtight, further, the second ferrule 6 is constructed so that it is fixed inside the supporting pipe 5, and one end projects inside the package 4 and the other end projects substantially by the length necessary for airtight fixing at the tip part of the supporting pipe 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
