PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact imaging unit capable of performing focusing by comparatively small output of a motor. SOLUTION: The imaging unit 20 includes: an optical member 28; a holding member 24 holding the optical member 28 and moving in the axial direction of the optical axis O of the optical member 28; a driving member 34 turning in a direction around the optical axis O; cam mechanisms 30 and 32 converting the turning in the direction around the optical axis O of the driving member 34 into the movement in the axial direction of the optical axis O of the holding member 24; a coil 36 provided in the driving member 34 and turning integrally with the driving member 34; and a magnetic field generation part 42 provided along in the turning direction of the coil 36 and generating magnetic field for driving the coil 36 in the turning direction by interaction with a current flowing to the coil 36.
