PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of achieving easy-to-view and easy-to-understand information display even on a screen with large amount of display information. SOLUTION: A digital single lens reflex camera is equipped with a system controller 50, a liquid crystal monitor 28, a shutter button 62, a main electronic dial 65, a drive mode setting button 75, a white balance selecting button 77, a photometry mode selecting button 78 and a range-finding mode selecting button 79. The liquid crystal monitor 28 is used to display both pre-photographing information and a reproduced image. The camera is constituted so that a photographing condition display area concerning photography in a photographing condition display screen and a photographing condition selection area concerning photography in a photographing condition selection screen, which are displayed on the liquid crystal monitor 28, can be nearly the same.
