PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance reliability and certainty as a device for alarming the occurrence of accident by ensuring protection radio alarming even upon occurrence of serious accident accompanied by destruction of railway vehicle in protection radio automatic alarm system. SOLUTION: The protection radio automatic alarm system 1 has a means 30 for actuating protection radios 33 and 34 based on detection of accident of a rail vehicle. The protection radio automatic alarm system 1 comprises a three axis accelerometer 11, a section performing operation required for detecting accident of a rail vehicle using that measurements, detection processors 15, 16 and 17 outputting an accident detection signal when accident of a rail vehicle is detected based on the operated value and the measurement from the three axis accelerometer 11, a means for inputting the accident detection signal to the protection radio actuation means 30, and circuits 19 and 20 for holding the operating state of a protection radio actuated by inputting the accident detection signal without using the accident detection signal.
