<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for automatically performing a fillet process even on a complex three-dimensional shape. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus for forming fillets includes: an edge line extracting means for extracting from a three-dimensional shape a plurality of edge lines, i.e., the subject from which fillets are to be created; a condition input means for letting a user input fillet formation conditions for each of the edge lines; an apex extracting means for extracting apexes where the plurality of edge lines meet; a divided edge line creation means for creating divided edge lines each of which is created by dividing each of the edge lines into two; a combination procedure determining means for temporarily creating fillets on each divided edge line in accordance with the creation conditions while setting as one creation unit the apexes and the plurality of divided edge lines that join the apexes, and for determining a procedure for combining the fillets at the apexes based on the relationship between the fillets temporarily created; and a fillet creating means for creating and combining the fillets for every creation unit in accordance with the creation conditions and the combination procedure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
