A paper sheet handling device is provided to completely automate restoration of normal operation by removing an accumulated article or jammed paper money at the time of received money counting, at the time of money reception, and at the time of money payment even in case of using a recycle box. A paper sheet handling device includes a conveyance path and a discrimination unit(30). On the conveyance path, the paper sheet is capable of being conveyed in dual directions. The discrimination unit discriminates the paper sheet by being installed midway the conveyance path. The paper sheet handling device includes a rejected paper sheet holding box(40) and jammed paper sheet holding boxes(202) separately. The rejected paper sheet holding box holds rejected paper sheets. The jammed paper sheet holding boxes hold jammed paper sheets. The jammed paper sheet holding boxes are arranged on an end or both ends of the conveyance path.
