<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the case where a light source area by a disturbance light source such as a reflector is erroneously detected as a light source area by the lamp of a vehicle in image data imaged by an imaging means such as a camera. <P>SOLUTION: When the light source area, which is a light area with a light source, exists in the image data imaged by an on-vehicle camera 10, detection is performed on whether or not the light source area is the string of the light source area by the reflector arranged on the side of a road by defining the position of a division line for dividing a lane on which one's own vehicle is travelling as reference. When the light source area is regarded as the string of the light source area by the reflector, the area is excluded from detection objects in detecting the light source area with the lamp of the other vehicle as the light source. Consequently, the case where the disturbance light source such as the reflector arranged on the side of the road is erroneously detected as the light source area with the lamp of the other vehicle as the light source is reduced as much as possible. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
