PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the EVM of a reception signal by setting, appropriately in accordance with the receiving situation, the pass bandwidth of a band limit filter which extracts a signal of a desired channel from the reception signal. SOLUTION: A receiver 1 comprises: a neighboring channel use/non-use detecting section 10 which detects whether a neighboring channel, other than the desired channel, is used or not; and a pass bandwidth setting section 20 which sets the pass bandwidth of a band limit filter 5, while the neighboring channel is not being used, wider in comparison with a case where the neighboring channel is being used.
