PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a necessary number of routing wirings even when a non-display area is narrow where the routing wirings spanning from a signal input terminal of a panel terminal part to a transparent electrode of a display area are passed through. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display element includes a liquid crystal cell 1A wherein one panel substrate 21 on which a first transparent electrode (for example, common electrode) 23 and a second transparent electrode (for example, segment electrode) 12 are formed, and the other panel substrate 11 are laminated via a peripheral seal member 31, and wherein a liquid crystal substance is sealed in the formed cell 1a. A panel terminal 22 is provided to a side of one panel substrate 21 in a continuous manner. First and second signal input terminals 43 and 42 respectively connected to the first and second transparent electrodes 23 and 12 via prescribed wiring routes are formed on the panel terminal part 22. In the liquid crystal display element, a part of the wiring route connecting a part of specific input terminals of the first signal input terminal 43 to specific transparent electrodes corresponding to the specific input terminals in the first transparent electrode 23 is formed on a side of the other panel substrate 11.
