PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing machine equipped with a plate replacement device which enables precise inserting of a printing plate. SOLUTION: A virgin printing plate 30 is inserted and retained between a virgin plate retainer and a guide 51. The virgin plate retainer has a columnar projection 53 jutting out in the width direction of the virgin printing plate 30. The columnar projection 53 is fitted into grooves 52 and 54 formed in a frame F. The movement of the virgin plate retainer is restrained except for only in an insertion direction of the plate 30, with a free play P in the width direction of the plate 30 by a movement restrainer made up of a combination of the columnar projection 53 and the grooves 52 and 54.
