PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable efficient patterning of the surface of a sphere and to inexpensively provide the patterned sphere for an ornament or an ornamental object. SOLUTION: A nitrogen titanium plating layer 3 is formed on the surface of the sphere 1 subjected to cleaning and a seal 4 so designed as to have the same pattern as that of an end product is stuck peelably onto the nitrogen titanium plating layer 3. Sand is blown against the surface of the sphere 1 with compressed air so as to remove the plating layer 3 in the surface portion of the sphere 1 where the seal 4 is not present, and then the seal 4 is peeled off from the sphere 1.
