PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking device capable of correctly marking an object even if laser light is slantly incident and capable of knowing an irradiation point of the laser light without manually moving the marking device. SOLUTION: A stamping device 100 is equipped with a first light receiving sensor 36 and a second light receiving sensor 38. The first sensor 36 detects light on a first plane, and the second sensor 38 detects light on a second plane. A coordinate value of the light irradiation point on the surface of the object is calculated from a coordinate value of the light irradiation point on the first plane, a coordinate value of the light irradiation point on the second plane and positional relationship between the first and second planes and the surface of the object. A stamper is moved to the coordinate value thus obtained, for stamping on the surface of the object. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
