It is possible to provide a fuel cell having a high cell performance, improving a gas seal performance of a fuel gas and an oxidant gas by the end structure of a unit cell (1) of the fuel cell, and suppressing lowering of OCV. The tube-type unit cell (1) for the fuel cell includes an internal current collector (11), a first catalyst electrode layer (12), an electrolyte layer (13), a second catalyst electrode layer (14), and an external current collector 15 which are coaxially layered in this order from a core (X). At least at one end of the unit cell (1), at least the electrolyte layer (13) protrudes from the second catalyst electrode layer (14) and the external current collector (15) and an outer circumferential surface (132) of the protruding electrolyte layer (13) is exposed. |
