SiC-BASED SINTERED PRODUCT, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF

Disclosed is a SiC-based sintered product which has excellent binder-removing ability and has a homogenous composition. Also disclosed is a method for producing the SiC-based sintered product. The SiC-based sintered product comprises at least SiC and Si as the constitutional components, and has an average surface roughness of 5 to 100 µm or a surface porosity of 0.3% or more. The sintered product can be produced by the steps of molding a molding raw material comprising a SiC powder, a graphite powder, an organic binder and water, sintering the molded product, and cooling the sintered product, wherein a nitrogen gas is introduced duringat least either of the sintering step and the cooling step.
