<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of stably maintaining reproducibility of a minute point even in a case where environment such as temperature or humidity changes or the apparatus is used for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus of the invention includes: a photoreceptor; an exposure section that outputs an optical signal the pulse width of which has been modulated, and exposes the photoreceptor; a developing section that develops the photoreceptor, thereby forming a developed image on the photoreceptor; a transfer section that transfers the developed image to a body to be transferred, thereby forming a transfer image; an image patch forming section that forms an image patch including a minute point; a sensor section that detects information about the density of the developed image of the image patch formed on the photoreceptor or information about the density of the transfer image of the image patch formed on the body to be transferred; and an image quality maintaining control section which if the information about the density detected by the sensor part is out of the predetermined reference density range, alters an exposure parameter used to form an image of a minute point so that the information about the density falls within the predetermined reference density range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
