OPTICAL DEVICE, IMAGING APPARATUS AND ITS CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately provide information related to focusing operation without giving an unnatural feeling to a user in an optical device having an automatic focus detecting function. SOLUTION: The optical device is equipped with: a control means which controls to detect a first position regarded as a focused state by moving a focus lens at first speed and then to detect a second position regarded as a focused state by moving the focus lens back and forth at second speed lower than the first speed while putting the first position in between; and an output means which performs output to inform the user of information to discriminate that the focused state is attained.
