PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a key box capable of sufficiently enhancing the theft preventive effect of a key, capable of providing stable opening-closing operation of a cover body, and capable of reducing influence of disturbance, by operating the cover body for opening and closing by two shafts. SOLUTION: This key box has a box body of arranging a key storage part inside, the cover body openably-closably arranged in a front opening part of the box body, and a detecting means for detecting a storage state of the key in the key storage part, and is characterized in that the cover body is openably-closably arranged in the box body by the upper and lower shafts arranged on one end side in its right and left width direction. A plate body is fixed between the upper and lower shafts on one end side of the cover body. At least one of the upper and lower shafts abuts on an end surface of the plate body. The cover body is formed by arranging its outer peripheral part in a fitting state inside a side wall of a predetermined depth of forming the front opening part of the box body.
