PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely improve ability of recognizing a target in an area of interest, by reducing the fixed matching errors and dynamic matching errors between the infrared (IR) line of site (LOS) and a laser LOS in a targeting and an imaging system, based on the intermediate wave infrared forward-monitoring device (FLIR)/laser. SOLUTION: The fixed matching errors between the IR LOS and the laser LOS are reduced by an improved internal boresight module (not shown) and the corresponding boresight method. Dynamic matching errors are reduced by a single pitch (405) bearing both for laser energy and IR energy and a photoelectric subsystem that uses a common pitch/yaw afocal (401).
