PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of improving accuracy of a halt position of an object to be conveyed even when a halt characteristic of a motor varies. SOLUTION: This printer 10 for performing printing on an object P to be printed comprises a memory means 116 for halt reference information relating to a reference halt characteristic in the halt characteristics of the motor 31, a measurement control means 111 for controlling to drive the motor 31 in order to measure the actual halt characteristic of the motor 31, a correction output calculation means 115 for calculating a correction output for correcting the halt characteristic of the motor 31 along the reference one by comparing the actual halt characteristic with the reference one when the motor 31 is controlled to be driven by the measurement control means 111, and a correction output applying means 121 for outputting the correction output calculated by the correction output calculation means 115 to the motor 31 when the halt condition for stopping the object P to be conveyed is satisfied.
