IMAGE PROCESSING SYSTEM, CHARACTER RECOGNITION SYSTEM, AND IMAGE PROCESSING PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system capable of determining a hand-written character area or a print character area in an image which is not surely determined to be the hand-written character area nor the print character area. SOLUTION: A feature extracting means of the image processing system extracts a prescribed feature from the image. A texture space generating means generates a texture space, which is obtained by mapping respective pixels or texture information of the respective areas in the texture space, in response to the feature extracted by the feature extracting means. A partial space estimating means estimates a partial space being the hand-written character area or a partial space being the print character area, in the texture space which is generated by the texture space generating means. An area determining means determines the hand-written character area or the print character area on the real image in response to the partial space estimated by the partial space estimating means.
