PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front member mounting method for mounting a front member which can absorb collision energy at the time of front collision to the driver's seat side. SOLUTION: The front member mounting method is used for attaching the front member 10 to side members 20, 30 installed on either side of a vehicle so that the front member 10 is disposed in front of the vehicle. The front member 10 is arranged in the vehicle width direction in such a manner that one end of the front member 10 having fastening holes 13 of an opening area larger than those of fastening holes 12 formed in the other end is located on the driver's seat side, and is connected to side members 20, 30 via the fastening holes 12, 13.
