The present invention is directed to methods of inhibiting or reducing tumor growth including the step of administering an effective amount of recombinant human mannose-binding lectin to a patient. The methods include administering recombinant human mannose-binding lectin to a patient having colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, lymphomas, melanomas or myelomas.
