The roof stowage box (12), to take the roof (14) of a convertible automobile, is a moving luggage space separation (16) with a dividing wall (18) at the rear and a cover (10). On moving the roof out of the box, the dividing wall and/or the box are moved by a mechanism towards the vehicle center with a simultaneous and/or following closure of the cover with a force against the dividing wall to move the luggage space separation down and to the side and pressed against the sealing surfaces (20,28).
