The present invention falls in the membrane separation methods field and in particular applies to the purification of C2 or C3 olefins. The present method more particularly separates propylene from a mixture containing other C3 hydrocarbons such as propane. The membranes used in the method according to the present invention are membranes based upon vitreous polymers whose unit contains a bis-phenyl-9,9-fluorene substituent.
