[PROBLEMS] To provide a fuel injection device with a supply pump having interchangeability and usable for engines of different types. [MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEMS] This fuel injection device for an engine includes a supply pump (3) in which plungers (33) are reciprocated by the rotation of a camshaft (40) interlocked with the crankshaft of the engine to suck a fuel pressure-fed from a feed pump (9) into pressurizing chambers (8), and which pressurizes the fuel and performs pressure-feed of the fuel into an accumulation chamber (2). The supply pump (3) is mounted on an engine body (30) as a separate body, and the feed pump (9) is mounted onto the supply pump (3) on the side opposite to the engine body (30). Thereby, the supply pump (3) is constituted integrally with the feed pump (9), and these pumps (3, 9) can be driven by the rotation of the camshaft (40).
