METHOD TO IMPROVE A HANDOVER SUCCESS RATE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A method for improving a handover success rate in a mobile communication system is provided to improve a message receiving rate by transmitting messages associated with the handover of an MS several times, thereby improving the handover success rate and performing the fast handover of the MS. A handover method for an MS(Mobile Station)(200) in a mobile communication system comprises the following steps of: transmitting repeatedly a first ranging request message at regular intervals(201); receiving a ranging response message and uplink resource allocation information at least two times(203); and transmitting a second ranging request message as many as a reception frequency of the uplink resource allocation information(205,209).
