PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an inner pipe from being displaced from an outer pipe, when a drain pipe in which the periphery of the inner pipe is covered with the deformable outer pipe (e.g. a fibrous covering member) is arranged in a height direction. SOLUTION: This construction method for the drain pipe is used when the drain pipe 10 in which the periphery of the inner pipe is covered with the deformable covering member 40 via a gap is arranged in the height direction. The construction method is characterized by comprising: a preparation step of detaching the covering member 40x at a region gripped when the drain pipe 10 is vertically lifted so as to expose the inner pipe 11 in the gripped region; a piping step of arranging the drain pipe 10 by gripping the exposed inner pipe 11; and a covering step of covering the exposed inner pipe 11 with the covering member 40x after the piping step.
