PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire tread rubber composition which can give a tire with wet performance improved without detriment to rolling resistance and abrasion resistance and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same. SOLUTION: The tire tread rubber composition is a composition consisting of at least either a natural rubber or a synthetic rubber and a filler component consisting entirely of silica or consisting of silica and carbon black, wherein the silica consists of at least amorphous spherical silica microparticles having an average particle diameter in the range of 0.05 to 1.00μm. It is desirable that the tire tread rubber composition contains 2-40 pts.mass amorphous spherical silica particles per 100 pts.mass rubber component. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
