PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porphyrin compound that effectively functions as an artificial oxygen carrier that has a P50value closer to that of a red blood cell and is more biocompatible. SOLUTION: The porphyrin compound has a 1-methylhistidine derivative bonded in the molecule. The albumin-porphyrin composite comprises albumin clathrated by the porphyrin compound.
