摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp improved in total luminous flux by efficiently converting ultraviolet rays emitted to a tube end to visible light; and a lighting system. SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp is characterized by comprising: a long arc tube 4; a discharge medium comprising mercury and a rare gas filled in the arc tube 4 and filled in the arc tube 4; a phosphor layer 3 formed on the inside surface of the arc tube 4 so that the film thickness on the other tube end side is set larger than that on one tube end side, and having alumina fine particles added as a binder; electrode means 7a and 7b sealed at both ends of the arc tube 4 and generating discharge; and a mercury adsorbent 11 arranged at least on the tube end on the other thick film side. Since the mercury adsorbent is arranged on the thick film side of the phosphor layer 3, the difference of optical outputs at both the ends becomes hardly outstanding, and the light distribution characteristic thereof can be improved.
