A television (1) includes: a basic function execution unit (42) for executing a basic function program stored in a basic function program storage unit (29) and called from control script; and a control scrip execution unit (41) for controlling the basic function execution unit (42) according to the control script, executing a first function for displaying an object, and executing, as a second function, the operation of the local device while displaying the object by the first function. Furthermore, a re-plotting area is defined in the control script. The re-plotting area is an area of the display screen where re-plotting is to be performed when the first or the second function is a modification requiring function which is a function requiring a modification of the display screen. When executing the modification requiring function, the control script execution unit (41) controls the basic function execution unit (42) according to the control script so as to specify the re-plotting area and executes re-plotting in the re-plotting area. Thus, it is possible to easily perform a device function modification.
