A construction method involves preparing the bodywork (10) with a bodywork section (12) into which can be installed a rear light of given size, and then preparing a cover panel for fixing on to the rear light (14) and then inserting the rear light with the cover panel into the bodywork section. An independent claim is given for a motor vehicle with bodywork having cut-away section.
