<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing processing load of a data processor and a communication control device connected to the data processor for sharing a network address by both the devices. <P>SOLUTION: Address information of a printer controller 1600 is requested in accordance with receipt of duplicate address detection data to be transmitted to a network for confirming whether a specific address is used by an external device or not from the printer controller 1600.
