<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce audio with an optimum sound field and high-definition sound quality in accordance with a program content by enabling effective sound field control to be performed, under sound field control due to a television receiver, using an audio reproducing apparatus (audio system) dedicated to audio reproduction during reproduction corresponding to a program. <P>SOLUTION: An audio/video reproducing system of the present invention comprises: a receiving means for receiving an AV signal and program information accompanying the AV signal; a television receiver 1 for reproducing the received AV signal; and an audio reproducing means 2 provided outside the television receiver 1, for receiving an audio signal from the receiving means and reproduces audio.
