<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve miniaturization of an optical disk device without increasing the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: The information recording and reproducing device is provided with a separation means for separating emitted light from a light source into transmission light and reflected light, an objective lens for converging the transmission light on a disk type recording medium, an optical pickup mounted with a polarizing mirror guiding the transmission light to the objective lens and a light receiving element receiving the reflected light reflected by the disk type recording medium, and a movement means for moving the optical pickup in the radial direction of the disk type recording medium, wherein on the optical pickup, the light source, the separation means, and the polarizing mirror are arranged so that an optical axis from the light source to the polarizing mirror is tilted to an inner peripheral side of the disk type recording medium for the direction perpendicular to the movement direction of the movement means, the light receiving element is arranged at an inner peripheral side of the optical disk recording medium for the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
