<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for detecting a void-like print failure generated in a printed image in a perfecting machine, and a method for controlling printing conditions by feedback to the perfecting machine when the print failure is detected. <P>SOLUTION: This print failure detector is located downstream of a printing part of the perfecting machine and comprises an image sensor which photographs a printed image, a device for calculating a density difference between a void generating part and its peripheral normal printed image part in the photographed printed image, and a device for indicating the calculated data and a warning. In addition, the printing control method uses the print failure detector and controls at least one of the printing conditions selected from among tension, water supply, printing density and ink tack by feedback to the perfecting machine based on the data obtained by calculating the density difference. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
