<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily produceable coupling rod capable of bearing a high dynamic load under operation. <P>SOLUTION: The coupling rods 12, 42 for a shaft drive rod assembly 11 of a heald shaft 1 are designed as an open-type sheet metal parts subjected to bending. The cross section of the part along the length of the coupling rod is the same except the terminal parts 13 and 14.
