PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially advantageous method for isomerizing a diacetoxy allyl compound with less amount of a catalyst. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for isomerizing the allyl compound in an allyl compound-containing liquid obtained by the oxidation reaction of conjugated dienes. According to the method, the unsaturated aldehydes in the allyl compound-containing liquid are reduced to 1/40 or less of the allyl compound in the liquid in a weight ratio, and then the liquid is brought into contact with a catalyst to isomerize the allyl compound.
