PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold clamping device in an injection molding apparatus, which is capable of simply and safely adjusting the height of a spacer block according to the thickness of a molding mold. SOLUTION: The mold clamping device 12 in the injection molding apparatus 10 including a movable plate 28, a mold clamping cylinder 20, and a spacer block 34 which is interposed between a piston 26 of the mold clamping cylinder 20 and the movable plate 28 and affects the mold clamping force by the mold clamping cylinder 20 to the movable plate 28 comprises a male screw shaft 36 capable of lifting he spacer block 34 in the axial direction, a nut 38 which is screwed in the male screw shaft 36 and lifts the male screw shaft 36 through screw feeding by the rotation, and a drive motor for driving to rotate the nut 38, wherein the total height of the spacer block 34 is adjusted by lifting of the male screw shaft 36 through the rotation of the nut 38.
