A method is provided for diagnosing and monitoring kidney disease or a predisposition to kidney disease, in a subject comprising detecting pVHL, VEGF-A, CXCR4, integrin beta-1, PDGF-A, HIF1alpha and/or TGFbeta in a sample from the subject. Screening methods for test agents for inhibiting kidney disease, and therapeutic applications are also described. |
