Claimed is an assembly to tension a belt or web forming part of a paper mill assembly mandatory and winding round a drum. The drum is supported at each end by an axial bearing. Each bearing can be shifted back and forth as required in the belt direction of travel. The shift of each bearing is individually adjustable by rotation of an adjustment control. The rotary control engages with a gear wheel or pulley wheel. The rotary adjustment mechanisms each side are linked together via a chain or a pulley.
