A boring machine is provided to make miniaturization possible and to bore in an oblique direction or a horizontal direction by hitting a shank rod for boring with the deadweight of a dropping weight hammer and the repulsion of a compression spring. A boring machine comprises a leader installed to a base machine to set up and down freely, and a drill head(3) installed to the leader to slide freely and equipped with a weight hammer(11) placed in a head main body(3a), a compression spring(12) supplying repulsion to the weight hammer, and a rotary body(13) having a hanging projection(14) setting up the weight hammer and moving in the direction of increasing the repulsion of the compression spring, and releasing the weight hammer at the appointed location, wherein if the rotary body rotates, the hanging projection of the rotary body hangs a notch(11a) of the weight hammer and lifts upward, and the compression spring is pressed by the weight hammer to increase repulsion, and if the hanging projection of the rotary body rotates and passes the top dead point, the hanging projection releases the notch of the weight hammer, so that and the weight hammer drops with deadweight and the repulsion of the compression spring and hit a shank rod(15) with the deadweight of the weight hammer and the repulsion of the compression spring.
