<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new mechanism by which a recordable data amount in an optical disk can be visually confirmed by a user. <P>SOLUTION: An image formed on a drawing layer is an image having a circular shape having the center of the optical disk 1 as a center. As shown in Figs.11(a) and (b), the size of the image (the region discolored by laser light) is a size according to a data recorded amount in a data recording layer. As being understood by comparison of Figs.11(a) and (b) with Figs.11(c) and (d), according as the recorded data amount is increased, the discolored region in the drawing layer is gradually and concentrically increased from the center of the optical disk 1 toward the outer edge of the disk.
