<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for producing dimethyl ether which can attain a high methanol conversion and a high dimethyl ether selectivity, and produce dimethyl ether with a high yield from methanol. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing dimethyl ether is obtained by mixing and molding a zeolite with the SiO<SB>2</SB>/Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>mol ratio of 10-1,000 and boehmite crystalline Al(OH)<SB>3</SB>having the Na<SB>2</SB>O content of 0.01 wt.% or below and the BET specific surface area of 100-300 m<SP>2</SP>/g when it is calcined, at the ratio of zeolite of 0.1-20 pts.wt. to boehmite crystalline Al(OH)<SB>3</SB>of 100 pts.wt. in terms of alumina, and thereafter calcining it, wherein this catalyst has a molded body containing zeolite of 0.1-20 wt. parts for Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>of 100 pts.wt. the SiO<SB>2</SB>/Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>mol ratio of 0.018-0.3, the Na<SB>2</SB>O content of 0.01 wt.% or below and the BET specific surface area of 100-300 m<SP>2</SP>/g. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
